At 10 months, babies are more comfortable with a wider range of textures and flavours, so you can start to introduce soft foods with small lumps and mixed textures. Encouraging self-feeding with finger foods is key at this stage, helping to develop coordination and fine motor skills. Try offering small pieces of pasta, scrambled eggs, or even gentle spices like cinnamon or mild herbs to introduce new flavours. Babies also love to mimic, so eating together can motivate them to try what’s on their plate.

Signs your little one is ready for small finger foods:

DEVELOPMENT

Your baby is now coordinating their index finger and thumb to pick up smaller objects (be it food or a toy) and putting them in their mouth with greater accuracy. This motor skill is crucial for selffeeding, good hand-eye coordination and future tasks such as writing.
