Jammy Heart Biscuits

We’re not kidding when we say these snack time treats are as nutritious as they are delicious. Being packed with bananas means that they have essential nutrients that support their nervous system and skin health. Spread the love with these tasty, nutritious treats!

Ingredients

  • 125g plain flour
  • 1 small ripe banana
  • 75g unsalted butter
  • Low sugar jam

Method

  • Break your banana into a bowl and give it a mash with a fork
  • Add in the butter and using an electric whisk, mix until it is smooth
  • Add in your flour and stir to combine (top tip: trust the process, if it looks like it's not coming together, keep stirring and it eventually will)
  • Once the ingredients are combined, use your hands to knead the dough into a ball
  • Sprinkle some extra flour onto your work surface and then using a rolling pin, roll out the dough until it is about 5mm thick
  • Next, grab your cookie cutters - you can use any shape you like, we are using round cutters and smaller heart cutters for the top of the biscuits
  • Cut all of your biscuits into circles then take half of them and use the smaller heart cutter to cut out the middle (top tip: make sure to cut out even numbers of your biscuits because they will be sandwiched together)
  • Take the biscuits that were not cut in the middle and place them onto a lined baking tray, then add a dollop of jam onto each and spread it using the back of your spoon
  • Place your biscuit lids on top and then using a skewer add an extra little design on top
  • Bake your biscuits at 200 degrees for 8 minutes, until golden brown on top
  • Once cooled, they are ready to enjoy!
